Tanning and Pigmentation

Most of us are very particular about the skin care routine for our face and neck. However, we do tend to ignore our hands and feet. These areas are equally exposed to sun, pollution and are thus prone to tanning easily.

Hands, especially, are also quite prone to get various pigmented lesions on the dorsal aspect. Freckles, Lentigens, Solar Lentigo, Stucco Keratosis are few of the pigmented lesions that appear very commonly on the hands

Treatments

Fine lines and wrinkles

The skin on the hands also loses collagen and elastin from a relatively early age. Sun exposure can also be a significant contributor to aging skin on the hands, Frequent use of strong hand washes, soaps and sanitizers can also make the skin very dry and thus appear more wrinkly and papery thin

Treatments

Loss of volume or hollowness

As the skin loses its collagen, the subcutaneous fat also tends to get resorbed. This leads to loss of the youthful, plump appearance and hollows begin to appear between the muscle tendons. The veins also tend to become more prominent.
